Bio

I would like to acknowledge the traditional caretakers of this country and pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging of the six peoples that care for the Greater Blue Mountains area: Darug, Gundungurra, Wanaruah, Wiradjuri, Darkinjung and Tharawal.

Lindsay Scandrett was born in Sydney, Australia in 1960.

Musical from an early age, he has played played keyboards/piano in numerous musicals in Australia such as Cats (also in London UK), Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, The Rocky Horror Stage Show amongst others. He played part-time with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra from 1981- 87.

Living overseas from 1987 to 2014 he has played music professionally in 21 countries.

He has studied extensively at the Sydney Conservatorium and also at Western Sydney University from where he graduated with distinction as a Dean's Scholar B Mus -  Composition & Indigenous Australian Studies (2017 - 2019).

Lindsay composes from a small studio at his home in the Blue Mountains, where he lives with his childhood Teddy Bear, his partner and - some argue - too many cats.

His particular focus is a passion for the audio-visual medium.
